During my early university years a friend ran a fantasy role-playing game called "Dark Sun". His rather interesting group of adventurers were conveniently well represented by an AD&D Dark Sun figure set. I painted the above as a birthday present. The game is set in a world which has turned into a perpetual desert. I reversed the color scheme on the skin to get that "deep tanned look" - Testors "Mat Light Tan" base with a wash of Humbrol "Track Color" - rather than do a dark color and then drybrush the light. I drybrushed successive shades of Humbrol and Gunze Sangyo tans over the Humbrol wash to bring out the muscle definition. They turned out rather well - I am particularly fond of the half-giant (fifth from the left) and the dwarf (second from the left).
